Roger W. Boom Award Criteria and Nomination Procedure

The Roger W. Boom Award is named in honor of the emeritus professor from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Boom's career spanned more than thirty years during which he motivated a large number of young scientists and engineers to pursue careers in cryogenic engineering and applied superconductivity.

Applicants will be judged by the selection committee, which consists of individuals familiar with Dr. Boom's career. The committee is presently chaired by Dr. Chris Rey of Energy to Power Solutions (e2P), who is himself the first Boom Awardee. The CSA Board of Technical Directors will make the final determination of the award, which consists of a $500 check, a plaque, and a Lifetime Membership with CSA.

The award will be presented during the ASC meeting in fall 2024.
